Megyn Kelly slammed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as the “most radical” choice for 2024 vice-presidential running mate Kamala Harris — mocking him as “Tim Tampon” for offering free period products to boys.
“I’ve been thinking about Walz since yesterday. He’s the most radical they could find on the trans issue,” the former NBC and Fox host said during her Wednesday appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
Under Walz’s governorship, Minnesota was declared a “sanctuary state” that offers legal protections to children who travel there for so-called gender care, including puberty blockers, reconstructive genital surgery and hormone therapy, and to doctors who perform the surgeries.
Kelly compared the progressive Walz to California’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom, who recently passed a controversial law designed to keep parents in the dark about their children’s gender identity.
“There’s almost no light between these two, if any at all,” she said, adding, “He scares me because he could actually become vice president and potentially president.”
In a separate post on her X account on Wednesday, Kelly called Walz “My Tampon” — a reference to his policy of providing free menstrual products to elementary school children, including transgender children.
The law signed last year requires tampons and other products to be made available in boys’ and girls’ bathrooms at schools for children between grades 4 and 12.
Walz was tapped by Harris on Tuesday and later joined her at a rally in Philadelphia.
“He had that rally in the palm of his hand,” Kelly said, adding that he surpassed Harris as an orator.
“He’s much more effective than she is, or Joe Biden.”
Kelly said watching Walz speak gave her “a feeling of dread rising in her throat.”
“Because I know what he’s allowing in Minnesota when it comes to children,” she said.
Some Republican-led states have banned gender-affirming care for minors. Medical professionals who perform the procedures risk losing their medical license.
“I take care of the children. And he’s pedal to the metal, full steam ahead on all of it,” Kelly said of Walz.
“So when I saw her in awe last night — I’m not going to vote for her, I’ve been honest about that — but I recoiled … I understand why she chose him.”
The Post has sought comment from Walz and the Harris campaign.
